David W. Lein

David W. Lein, 79, of McDonald, North Fayette Township, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 in St. Clair Hospital.
David was born on January 25, 1945, in Stillwater, Minnesota, a son of the late Donald J. and Jeanne McLaughlin Lein.
Mr. Lein lived most of his life in Orange County, California and had only been in Pennsylvania for a few years. During his time in Orange County, David was very active within his community. Mr. Lein retired as a Deputy Sherif for Orange County. He loved working within his town and he found it such an honor to serve his fellow neighbors. David was also very active with the local school, where he worked as the high school basketball coach. David's active nature did not stop once he retired, some may even say it grew. David was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed walking, hiking, running, woodworking and gardening. David was even able to climb Mount Whitney and run many marathons in his lifetime.
Above all, there was nothing more important to David than that of his family. David was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his time spent with his family and enjoyed creating new memories with them as often as he could. David was the "Mr. Fix-It" in his family. He often lent his crafty hands to his family when they were in a time of need.
David had a heart of gold and the most loving nature about him, he will surely be missed by all.
Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret "Peggy" Dingess Lein, children, Rebecca (Mike) Siemers and Steven (Giovanna) Lein, grandchildren, Meghan, Wyatt, Logan and Eliza Siemers, and siblings, Donna Marshall, Cathy (Phil) Touchstone, and Mike Lein.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. at The Bible Chapel in Robinson, 175 McMichael Rd, Carnegie, PA 15106. David will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
