Margarette Young Lein

Margarette Lein, age 90, passed away on December 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, strength, and deep compassion. Margarette was an extremely hard worker who loved to stay busy and productive throughout her life. She carried herself with determination and purpose, always willing to step in and help wherever she was needed. Fiercely loyal, she was a devoted defender of her family and stood up for those she loved without hesitation. Known for her kind heart, Margarette had an especially deep compassion for children, people from all walks of life, and animals. Her generosity was felt by many, often expressed quietly through her actions rather than words. Margarette was a lifelong learner and accomplished much through her dedication to work and education. She earned her CNA license and graduated from Diesel Academy, reflecting both her caring nature and her strong, hands-on work ethic. Outside of work, Margarette found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid movie lover, owning thousands of movies and spending countless happy hours watching them. She will be forever loved and missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her.

Margarette is survived by her children, Peggy Devine (Gene), Elizabeth Blankenship (Daren), Tina Davis (Tommy), and David C. Lein; grandchildren, Stacie, Joshua (Brandon), Heather, Crystal (Evan), Tabatha (Derek), Jimmy (Mandi), Paul, and Joseph; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandsons.

Margarette is preceded in death by her ex-husband, David E. Lein; parents, Linnie Longoria and Harry Young; and brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
