David E. Lemoine was born on October 13, 1942 to Joseph Jennings Lemoine and Anita McDaniel Lemoine. David was a Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea. He was a graduate of Ville Platte High School. He went on to get a degree in education from Southern University. He worked at Cabot as a maintenance supervisor for over 38 years. As dedicated as he was to his job, he always found time to come home for lunch or supper. He was a great provider for his family and loved them immensely. David was a family man who gave his children and grandchildren the advice they needed, and he taught them difference between wants and needs. David and his wife Barbara were avid golfers. They traveled the southern states playing golf.
David also had an extensive ball cap collection. His grandchildren gifted him many ball caps over the years. He enjoyed everything outdoors from hunting, fishing, and cooking to coaching and umpiring baseball games. David’s greatest joys in life were his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially the love of his life, Barbara. His family and friends will miss him dearly, but rejoice in knowing he is celebrated in heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Lemoine; sons, Joseph Dale Lemoine of Lake Charles and Joseph Vic Lemoine of Surprise, Arizona; daughter, Rachel L. Davis of Ville Platte; sister, Lucille McDaniel; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Jennings Lemoine and Anita McDaniel Lemoine.
