Obituary of David F. Lippner

David F. Lippner, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at his home in Shorewood, IL, after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 12, 1939, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late George and Ethel (nee Talmage) Lippner.

David retired from 3M after 30 years plus years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his retirement in Lakeland, Florida, especially living in the Citrus Woods community where he volunteered for them in many aspects. David truly enjoyed the Florida sun, and stayed as active as he could because sitting still is something he did not like to do.

He was a loyal family man whose presence brought warmth and comfort to multiple generations, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. David is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Anna) Lippner and Donna (Pat) Hoban; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and his brother William (Anne) Lippner.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Rosetta "Bunny" Lippner; and his son, George Lippner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Tinley Park P.A.W.S.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Navy and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad. Due to his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
