David L. Lon, Sr. of Maple Shade, passed away on June 24th, 2024. He was 78 years old. David was born in Philadelphia, PA, on September 5th, 1945. Loving son to Mary Lon (nee Young). Devoted husband to Aileen Lon (nee Flanagan). Beloved father to David Lon, Jr. (Teresa), Elizabeth Leonard (Todd), Adam Lon (Chrissy), Matthew Lon, Mary Lewis (Steve), and Brigid Peruso (Andrei). Cherished grandfather to Emily (Nick), Sara, Allison, Molly, Adam, Stella, Christian, Stevie, Charlotte, and Cecelia. Proud great grandfather to Cameron. Brother to Martha Lon. Predeceased by brothers Edgar and Bud Lon.
David was born and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia. He and Aileen were happily married in 1977 and for the majority of their lives, lived and raised their six children in the Northwood section of Philadelphia. David was a machinist for 35 years at Sandmeyer Steel Company. He was known for his gentlemanly nature, love of cooking, and devotion to his wife and kids.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Givnish Funeral Home of Cinnaminson. Located at 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ, 08077. Following the visitation there will be a funeral service starting at 11:30 a.m., also at the funeral home.
