David Lynch, 65, of
Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1960, and lived a full and passionate life defined by creativity, love, and adventure.
David's passion in life was his music - it was embedded in his soul. He was an accomplished musician and enjoyed performing in various bands as well as jamming with many friends and family members throughout the years. His love of music led him to earn a degree from the Musicians Institute of Technology in Los Angeles, California, where he was privileged to meet and collaborate with a number of accomplished musicians.
David worked various jobs through the years. One of the most rewarding was working at Guitar Center in California where he could share his knowledge of music and meet other musicians. He was also a skilled independent tile contractor, known for his artistry, craftsmanship and dedication to his work.
David appreciated the outdoors and nature. He liked to hike and rappel with his friends, and he enjoyed the solitude and peace that nature provided him. He was also known for his talent in trick and target shooting, a hobby he loved sharing with his wife, brothers and friends.
David was an adopted child, and he was much loved by his parents, brother Doug and sister Jane. He was also blessed to locate his biological family in 1998. He discovered he had 3 brothers (Lynn, Brian and Tracy) and a sister (Veronda) that he loved immensely since they met. His biological family loved music and were accomplished musicians as well. David learned he has Native American lineage in his family. This was quite wonderful and remarkable to him since when playing cowboys and Indians as a child he always wanted to be the Indian.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Janet Lynch; his stepmother, Susan Lynch; and his siblings: Doug (Aimee) Lynch, Jane Terrill, Lynn (Donna) Davis, Brian (Bonnie) Jones, Tracy (Doan) Jones, and Veronda (Bob) Bradley. He will also be deeply missed by his mother-in-law, Sue Diefenbach; his cherished dogs, Spooky and Trouble; and numerous family members and close friends who supported and loved him throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Dr. Leland C. Lynch Jr. and Patricia J. Brunswick; his biological parents, Kathleen and William M. Jones; his father-in-law, Jack Diefenbach; and his sister-in-law, Denise Diefenbach Matz.
A gathering of family and friends (food, fellowship and shared memories) will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home, 6850 Roosevelt Ave.,
Middletown, OH 45005. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by his brother Rev. Brian Jones. Continued fellowship will be welcomed after the service at the funeral home.
