David Main

1947 - 2023

David Michael Main "Pappers", age 75, of Frederick, passed away peacefully at Frederick Health Hospital on June 9, 2023. Born November 19, 1947, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Austin and Betty Staley Main. He was the husband of Linda Burdette Main, his wife of 52 years.

He was a graduate of Walkersville High School class of 1965 then served in the United States Marine Corp from 1966-1971 in Vietnam. He was the hardest working man we knew and would be the first to lend a helping hand if needed and was always quick to cheer you up if you were having a bad day. His grandchildren adored him. David worked many years in construction and in his younger years worked on the family farm. After retirement, he spent most of his time watching football, NASCAR, and loved spending time with his beloved wife, girls, grandkids and his sons-in-law.

Surviving are daughters Mary Seibert (Nick) of Ocean City, Lori Main (Jake Cline) of Myersville, Becky Divel (Darrick) of Frederick, grandchildren Samantha, Billy (Tiffany), Tyler (Rose) Szarvas, Jarett Cline, DJ and James (Shannon) Divel, great grandchildren Nathan and Malia Canterbury, Caisen Szarvas-Earley, Austin, Emma, Savannah, and Skyler Szarvas and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He always leaves special sisters in law Becky Barthel of Hagerstown, Jean Main of Thurmont, his best friend Little Feller, his dog Bo.

He was predeceased by a brother Warren Main.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, from 12p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home- Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick, with his Godson, Pastor Rodney Burdette officiating.

Pallbearers will be David's grandchildren, Samantha, Billy, Tyler, Jarett, DJ and James, honorary bearers will be his sons-in-law, Nick, Jake and Darrick.
