Sandra Main Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel on Mar. 15, 2026.
"Sandra J. "Sandy" Main, age 77, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at her home surrounded by the love of her husband and family.

On August 26, 1948 Sandy was born in Galion, Ohio. The daughter of the late Willie and Bonnie (Miller) Dameron. Sandy received her education from Galion High School. On October 11, 1968 Sandy married her soulmate, Arthur H. Main. The loving couple shared 57 marvelous years together.

Sandy was a woman whose life was beautifully rooted in love; love for her family, her community, and the simple joys that filled her days. She will be remembered most for the warmth she shared with those closest to her, especially the precious time she spent with her grandchildren. Whether it was attending their activities, sharing laughter, or simply being present in whatever they were doing, Sandy treasured every moment with them. Her grandchildren were a constant source of pride and happiness in her life.

For many years, Sandy served as a devoted teacher's aide at Whetstone School, a place that held special meaning for her; because of the children she helped each day. Her kindness, patience, and gentle encouragement left a lasting impression on the students and staff who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sandy also found joy in life's little adventures. She especially loved traveling to different Amish Communities, where she enjoyed browsing the shops and discovering unique treasures. Those trips were moments of relaxation and delight that she looked forward to time and time again.

A woman of many talents, Sandy had a remarkable ability to master whatever hobby captured her interest. When she discovered something new, she would pour her heart into learning it, perfecting it with determination and creativity before moving on to her next passion. Her curiosity and dedication were a testament to her vibrant spirit.

Sandy also had a fond appreciation for good food and good company, and she never passed up the opportunity to enjoy a meal from House of Hunan, a favorite that brought her both comfort and happiness.

Above all, Sandy will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. Her presence brought laughter and happiness, and her devotion to her family created memories that will be cherished forever. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the moments she created with those she held dear will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Arthur H. Main; daughter, Dawn (Dan) Brugmann; grandchildren: Ericsson Willoughby and Kierra Main; Daughter-in-law Kara Maynard; siblings: Terry, Lou, and Bonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her son, Scott H. Main; and siblings: Gloria, William, and Winona.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care and comfort they provided to Sandy and her family. Their kindness, dignity, and support during such a tender time will always be deeply appreciated and remembered.

Visitation will be held from 4PM-6PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel; 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead, OH 43338. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11AM on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel. Graveside Service will immediately follow at Rivercliff Cemetery.
