David Manson Obituary

David W. Manson, Sr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and veteran, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on November 5, 1941, in Chicago, IL, David lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting at 17, serving 20 years retiring as an E-7, with distinguished tours in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. His commitment to his nation was unwavering, and his sacrifice will forever be remembered. After retiring from the Army, David continued his service to our nation through his work in civil service. He also was a volunteer poll worker for years, helping to assure all Americans had the opportunity to exercise their right to vote. David enjoyed reading – particularly history books and traveling with his wife Anette and the many conversations with the people they encountered on their travels.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Anette, who stood by his side through all of life's joys and challenges. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings, James Manson, Mary Manson (affectionately known as "Rae Alice"), and Debbie Taplin. David's lifeforce continues through his four children, Joanne, David, Monika, and Peter, who each carry their own memories as a part of his legacy.
In addition to his immediate family, David's presence will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He touched the lives of many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
David's life was a testament to the power of service. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will continue to guide those whom he inspired.
A memorial service will be held to honor David's life and service at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Drive, Boulder City, NV on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 10:40am.

David and Anette were our neighbors in North Las Vegas. David was a wonderful neighbor and good human being. We both had careers in the military, and we often shared our military stories and had many laughs. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Anette, and his children. Rest in peace Dave. Bob Foessett
