David L. Marcil

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Lawrence Marcil, 79, of Easthampton, Massachusetts, on October 2, 2025. Born in Springfield to the late Teddy Marcil and Molly Cote, David spent most of his life in Easthampton, where he built a home filled with love and cherished memories.

David shared his life with his beloved wife, Diane Borofsky Marcil, and was a devoted father to his daughter, Teri Harwood, and her husband, Raymond; and his sons, Timothy Marcil, Daniel Borofsky and his wife, Melissa, and Carl Borofsky. A proud grandfather of six and great-grandfather of six, he also leaves several nieces, nephews, and a large extended family in North Adams.

An avid NASCAR fan, David's love for cars shaped his life and career. He owned Suzor's Appraisal Business and, after retiring, worked at Daytona Auto Mall in Florida, where he met many well-known figures in racing, including team owner Jack Roush. He treasured his Roush Mustang and an autographed photograph, symbols of his lifelong passion. Eventually, he returned to Massachusetts to be near family, who were always his greatest pride.
