It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dave McCaughey of Peoria AZ who died peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 85.
Dave owned and operated the Gemini Tavern with his brother Dennis for 10 years. After, he then returned to banking, retiring after 40 yrs with First Bankers Trust.
David is survived by his loving wife, Kay, his children, Kevin of Phoenix AZ, Ryan (Michelle) of Peoria AZ and Eric (Jennifer) of Quincy IL, his grandchildren, Jerid (Kacie) McCaughey, Lilly McCaughey, Katie McCaughey, Zoey McCaughey, Alex McCaughey and Sam McCaughey. He also leaves behind his brother Dennis (Mary) McCaughey, niece Kellie (Steve) Dye, sister in law Cindy Guthrie and nephews Zach (Kellie) Guthrie and Luke (Kaitlyn) Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Vera McCaughey, brother Terry McCaughey, his sister Marcia McCaughey, nephew Kory McCaughey and brother-in-law Dennis Guthrie.
A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends. In keeping with Dave 's wishes, donations in his memory may be made to a local Hospice or to a charity of your choosing.
He will be remembered always with love and gratitude.

Kay, my sincere condolences. Dave's sister, Marcia, was a high school best friend. She convinced Dave to invite me to - I believe it was a homecoming dance, but might have been prom. Dave was such a good dancer, and the evening is one of my most memorable from high school. Rest in peace, Dave
