David Allen McClay, 79, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away March 3, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1946 to the late Catherine and Lloyd McClay.
David was a proud U.S. veteran who served honorably in the United States Navy. He worked for Massillon City, in the Waste Water Treatment Department for 25 years until his retirement.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going shooting in his free time. He was gifted in his skills with cars and enjoyed spending time at the Magnolia Drag Strip participating in races. More than anything, enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his siblings, Carol Sullivan, Kay Ramsey, and Ronnie McClay.
David is survived by his loving wife, Becky McClay; children, John (Lynett) Fabianich McClay, David (Jeanne Collins) McClay Jr., and Josh (Kristin) McClay; grandchildren, Bobby, Tripp, Austin, Devyn, Danielle, Emily Grace, Josh Jr., Keelin, and Ivan; great-grandchildren, Carter, Griff, Kinsley, Jade, and Dawson; and nieces and nephews who he cared for deeply.
The family would like to thank Elara Caring Hospice for their compassionate care of David, specifically nurses, Michelle, Tracy and Lynett.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in David's memory to be made to Elara Caring Hospice and the Stark County Humane Society.
