David Meade Obituary

He was the son of David Eddy Meade and Mildred Clark Meade. He was born in Schenectady, NY on June 16, 1942.
David retired as the Regional General Manager of Niagara Mohawk / National Grid Electric and Gas Company. In his retirement, he became the Towns Code Enforcement officer with the Town of Greg, NY. He was a volunteer fireman with the 3-G Fire Company. He was also a member of the Elks Club in Lowville, NY.
David was a loving, caring person who was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, and Grandfather who enjoyed campfires by the lake with a good Manhattan in his hand.
He was survived by his wife, Linda K. Meade of 58 years, his children, David Eddy Meade and his wife, Patricia of Livingston Manor, NY, and his daughter, Heather A. Chansler and her husband, Eric Chansler of Bonita Springs, FL; his grandchildren, Michelle Meade and her companion, Justin Bivins from Livingston Manor, NY, Jennifer Meade and her companion, Chris Boryk of Livingston Manor, NY, Stephanie Meade of Livingston Manor, NY, Erik Chansler and his companion, Elizabeth Coughlin of Bonita Springs, FL and Britani Chansler of Bonita Springs, FL, his sister, Sandra Meade Decker of Eden, NY, his nephew, Gary A. Decker and his wife, Lisa Decker from Eden, NY; his great nephew's, Matt Schrader and his wife, Sarah of Rochester, NY and his great-nephew, Gary F. Decker.
He was predeceased by his grandson David Emory Meade.
At his request there will be no visitation, instead, he requested people to raise a glass of Manhattan in his honor.
Donations can be made in his memory to the 3-G Fire Company 6229 Blue Street Glenfield, NY 13343.
