David Medd, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away on September 16, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home in Albert Lea Minnesota
David was born to Charles and Rebecca (Lysne) Medd on August 11, 1950, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm where he developed a strong work ethic. David was not one to shy away from work as he held several jobs and roles including raising pigs, factory work, and carpentry. He was always known to be a hard worker and skilled handyman. His lifelong passion for farming would lead him to work at Reed's Vegetable Farm in Hollandale, Minnesota from which he retired.
David attended Albert Lea High School where he was known for his talent in football and gymnastics. He graduated in 1968. On April 18, 1970, he married Kathy Jo (Dahl). To this union two children were born, John and Laurie.
David was a lifelong member of the East Freeborn Lutheran Church where he served as church treasurer for many years. Through the years he enjoyed watching various sports and loved to go fishing with family. He loved to complete Sudoku puzzles along with watching Westerns and the Red Green Show. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
David's legacy will continue to live through his wife, Kathy, and children, John (Roxanne) Medd and Laurie (Allan) Greibrok, three grandchildren, Katelyn Greibrok, Braden Greibrok, and Logan Medd, sister Karen (Don) Austinson; sisters-in-law, Lisa Medd and Mary (Mark) Christopherson; and many nieces and nephews
David is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Roger and Arla Dahl; brother, Daniel Medd; sister-in-law, Paula Dahl, two nephews and one niece.

A service honoring the life of David Medd will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday. October 4, 2024, at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services in Albert Lea, MN. The visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. David will be inurned at the East Freeborn Cemetery in Bancroft Township, MN.
