David Melton Obituary
He was born January 29, 1944, in Cleveland County, son of George Willis Melton and the late Mary VanDyke Melton.
He was a US Air Force veteran.
David was a member of ANew Beginnings Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
He was an avid fisherman.
A celebration of David's life will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, August 6, 2023, at ANew Beginnings Baptist Church 145 Battleground Drive Blacksburg, SC, officiated by Pastor Doug Ramsey and military honors provided by the US Air Force.
In addition to his father, David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Moss Melton; son, Jeff Melton; brother, John Melton (Deb May); sister, Deb Lynn Kates (Jerry); grandchildren, Brooke Melton (Tyler Williams); great-grandchildren, AnnaLeigha Jackson, Deacon Jackson, Alec Sisk, Gracin Sisk, Alannah Williams.
In addition to his mother David was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Sheppard.
