David J. Minnicks

David J. "Pap" Minnicks, 84, of Latrobe, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, in Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg. Born July 18, 1941, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Zephania C. "Zack" Minnicks and Anna M. (Kelley) Minnicks Bowman. David was a member of Charter Oak Church, a place he cherished being. Prior to his retirement, he was an over-the-road salesman for Three Rivers Beauty Supply and had been employed by Regency Limo, Greensburg. Throughout the years, he had also worked for Sears in Greensburg and Walmart in Latrobe. In his spare time, he could be found helping at Randy Redinger & Sons. David was a longtime member of North Huntingdon Township Volunteer Rescue 8 Squad. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, metal detecting, and flea markets. David had the reputation of being a true "thrifter." Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Bowman; and one sister, Patricia McCaslin. David is survived by one daughter, Deanna L. Redinger (Randy) of Latrobe; two sons, David P. Minnicks (Barbara) of North Huntingdon and Dennis E. Minnicks (Paula) of Penn Township; nine grandchildren, Alicia Stone (Nathan), Shaun Minnicks, David Minnicks Jr. (Julie Ulery), Will Redinger (Melissa), Nathan Minnicks, Adam Redinger, Josh Redinger, Jerrad Redinger, and Nick Redinger; eight great-grandchildren, Zane, Natalie, Rylee, Delaney, Madilynn, Isabella, River, and Blake; and his beloved dog, Tippy. Family and friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, in the funeral home with Rev. Chris Whitehead officiating. Interment is private.
