David Mitchell Obituary

Keith passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Sherlyn Mitchell, Betty Patterson, and Dood and Judy Sims; uncle, Ricky Mitchell; and special nephew, Hunter Lee Tolbert.
Left to cherish his memories are the love of his life, his precious daughter, Alexandra "Alex" Liv Mitchell; his mother, Lisa (Roger) Sims; sisters, Katie (Jason) Payton, and Kari (Joe) Wineman; nieces and nephews, Jaxon Mitchell (always his favorite "little man"), Lexi Graham and Kutter Grisham; aunts and uncles, Larry (Connie) Mitchell, Kelly (Phillip) Stone, Traci Smith, Angie (Larry) Walker, Chris (Laura) Sims and a host of cousins.
Keith graduated from Glencoe High School where he truly lived his high school years to the fullest. Keith was honored to be loved by so many special friends including Bo, Drew, Zack, Steve, Grant, Wes, Garrett, Clay and many others. He also loved his 2 chosen sisters, Ashley and Cassie.
Keith worked for the US postal service after attending college at Jacksonville State University. Keith loved Auburn Football and the NFL Draft. Please feel free to wear your Auburn gear in memory of him to the visitation. His black lab "Chief" was more than a dog but his best friend and at Keith's request his ashes will be spread along with Chief. His work with the postal service led to many animal rescues and reports of abuse.
In lieu of flowers Keith would be honored to know that his final legacy led to the rescue/placement/neuter of local animals in need. Mailman's Mutts was started locally by postal worker Chris Moulds and is dependent on donations. Keith would be honored for his friends and family to forego flowers and donate to the animals.
