David Charles Moore

MADISON - David Charles Moore sadly left us June 2, 2024.
Born in Maquoketa, IA, July 3, 1941, to Norma Rasmussen and Birdsall Moore. Dave graduated from Maquoketa, High School in 1959 and Northwest Missouri State University in 1969. Dave was an accomplished wrestler in both high school and college. He served in the army between the years of 1963-1965 where he was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. He met his wife Margie on a blind date March 5, 1965. They were married June 11, 1966. Dave started his career in the insurance industry in 1969. He climbed the corporate ladder retiring as Chairman and CEO of Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation in 2005.
Dave was a man who was loving, smart, caring and so much fun. He had the best sense of humor and "one-liners" for every occasion. Dave had a strong faith in God, he loved his family first and foremost, and was a loyal friend to many.
Dave is survived by his wife, Margie; and his children: Christi Andringa, Michael (Tatiana), Jeffery (Andrea) Moore; grandchildren: Jack, Carson, and Dara Andringa; Tiziana,and Maxuel Moore; Jase, and Jayden Moore.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Robert and Jake Moore; and son-in-law Robert Andringa.
Funeral service will be held on June 12, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas, in Madison, WI. A Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., and Mass from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. elebration of life to follow at Hawks Landing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dave's name to the following: Fight CRC www.fightcolorectalcancer.org, or Badger Honor Flight www.badgerhonorflight.org.

Dave wasn´t responding to my funny emails. At this point, I do check the obituaries. Today, regrettably, I´m finding that one of the best has arrived home in the comfortable embrace of Almighty God . I will truly miss this man. I looked up to Dave- privileged to know him. John Hannan
