David Mullenix Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home - Worthington on Feb. 9, 2026.
David Norris Mullenix, formerly of Dublin, OH, passed away peacefully in North Fort Myers, FL on January 28, 2026, at age 81. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on June 30, 1944, to Charles N. Mullenix and Ora F. Mullenix (nee Dunlap). David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Carol June Mullenix (nee Lehane), who passed in 2006, as well as both of his parents.

David honorably served in the United States Air Force, receiving his discharge in June 1966. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1972. A dedicated and accomplished engineer, David built a long and successful career, including co-founding and then serving as President & CEO of The Arlex Group, a manufacturing management consulting firm.

Upon retirement, David relocated from Dublin, OH to North Fort Myers, FL, where he enjoyed the warm weather and tinkering with his boat, the ConSaltant.

David will be greatly missed by his three sons and their families: Bradley N. Mullenix, wife Kelly (nee Santo) of Lewis Center, OH, and their children Abigail and Luke; Jeffrey D. Mullenix of McKinney, TX, and his children Nathan and Emma; and Ryan J. Mullenix, wife Annie (nee Duckworth) of Blacklick, OH, and their children Cameron, Avalilly, Kessler, and Delanie. He will also be missed by his sister, Donna J. Mullenix of Venice, FL; sister in law Joyce L. Seeger (nee Lehane), husband Richard of Blue Ash, OH; nieces and nephew Joan (John) Patton, Steve Seeger, and Julie (Geoff) Barron; and several great nieces and great nephews.

David will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date beside his wife, Carol, in Columbus, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to raise a glass of your favorite drink, we suggest a single malt scotch, and offer a toast not just to David, but to David and Carol together. After twenty years apart, two best friends, husband and wife, are reunited once more.
