David Muskovin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Gores Funeral Home on Oct. 30, 2023.
David Lee Muskovin, known lovingly as Dave, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, MI on October 28, 2023. Born on January 22, 1939, Dave hailed from Muskegon, MI.
Dave is remembered by many family members who cherished him. He is survived by his dedicated wife of 50 years, Karen (Sheffer) Muskovin, their loving children: Vicky (Bret) Ziel, Tim (Julie) Sheffer, Gene (Betsy) Muskovin, Heidi (Mark) Pharr. Dave relished the love and time shared with his grandchildren: Nora (Joel), Courtney (David), Landon, Collin, Gabe, Madison and his great-grandchildren Aiden with one more on the way. He is also survived by his siblings: Bob, Cal (Betty), Marshall (Marilyn), and Ted (Nancy) Muskovin. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Lillian (Vance) Muskovin; sister, Cheryl Lynn Muskovin and great grandchild, Carles.
Dave's dedication to service shines brightly from his time as a member of the United States Navy beginning in 1956, and the Air Force from 1957-1961. He continued this path of service as a volunteer at the Delton Fire Department. Dave enjoyed a career at the Barry Co. Telephone Company for over 31 years before his retirement in 2003.
David savored each moment of life with a wide range of interests. A diehard Detroit Lions fan, Dave spent countless hours cheering for his team. His truest joy and passion was time spent with family. From watching his children and grandchildren's sports activities to his marriage to Karen on December 21, 1973, Dave's happiest hours were those spent in the company of loved ones.
Dave's family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Delton Fire Department, 201 E. Orchard St., Delton, MI 49046. Private burial will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations to Delton Fire Club will be appreciated. Please visit www.williamsgoresfuneral.com to share a memory or leave a condolence message for Dave's family.
