Connie Hawk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Gores Funeral Home on Mar. 4, 2026.
Connie Sue (Dawson) Hawk, of Delton, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 28, 2026.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Dana Alan Hawk; her children, Kyle Edward Hawk of Plainwell and Alison Romaine Hawk of Delton; and her cherished grandson, Ryver Alan Stephens. Also surviving are her siblings: Teresa (James) Keiper of Deerfield, Ohio; Victoria Lee of Jackson, Michigan; Richard (Diane) Dawson of Dowling, Michigan; Tamara (Scott) Grizzle of Tyler, Texas; and Judith Petersen of California. She was preceded to heaven by her sister, Michelle Dawson, and her parents.

Connie was born on February 10, 1961, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to Frieda Romayne Barkley Dawson Edwards and Harold Lee Dawson. She moved from Ohio to Michigan in 1970 and graduated from Delton Kellogg High School in 1979. Connie later lived in Dallas, Texas, where she attended The Texas College of Medical and Dental Assistants, graduating in 1982 as a Registered Medical Assistant. She worked for four years as an RMA in Texas before returning to Michigan.

Upon returning home, Connie embraced what she lovingly called her "Little House on the Prairie Days," dedicating herself to raising her children, gardening, and making many things for her family from scratch. During those years she also operated a licensed daycare and worked for Hallmark as a card merchandiser for two local stores.

In 2000, Connie returned to medical assisting with Bronson Healthcare Group. She always considered it an honor to work alongside physicians and help patients feel comforted and cared for.

In 2021, Connie began a small business called "Connie's Customs," where she created handmade jewelry. She was a talented wire-wrapper and took great pride in her craft.

Connie trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1987 and devoted many years to serving the Lord at Milo Bible Church and later Orangeville Baptist Church, where she taught children's clubs, Sunday school, and Junior Church. Though she was not currently affiliated with a church, she continued to worship faithfully and remained certain of her eternal home. Her life verse was Psalm 46:1.

Connie was a member of the Delton Moose Lodge since 2019 and enjoyed playing bingo with the "Winning Women of Wilkinson." She loved cooking, canning, and baking for her family, gardening, traveling, making jewelry, and hosting friends for Christmas parties and brunches. She loved lake life with her family and friends and loved each of them.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Delton Moose Lodge on April 11 at 1:00 PM. The gathering will include a picture board, readings from Connie's obituary, Psalm 23, her life verse and motto, as well as a time of prayer and sharing.
