David James Mylan, 69, of LaGrange, formerly of Cicero, Carbondale, Homewood and Torrance CA, passed away on November 23, 2025. Beloved partner of Janine Vilimek for 7 wonderful years and former partner of Evie (Wexler) Plofsky and Karen Mylan Damian. Adored father of Rachel (Ari Feinstein) Mylan and Sarah Mylan. Cherished grandfather of Mika Feinstein and Toby Feinstein. Dear brother of Judy (Ted) Mylan, Ed (Pam) Mylan, Bill Mylan, Susie (Frank) Rogers and Linda (Doland) White. David is preceded in death by his siblings Barbara Carstensen and Michael Mylan as well as his parents James and Gilda Mylan. David held many unique and varied jobs throughout his life, including sales, machine repair, school bus driving, and cooking, each one reflecting his curiosity and willingness to take on anything. A musician with a brilliant ear and a love for all kinds of music, he filled every room with melody. He played hockey with heart, and his passion for science and philosophy fueled endless conversations. And, of course, he told terrible jokes—ones that will be miss more than ever.
