I recently learned of Dr. Nash's death. What a gift to the world he was. I I had the pleasure of having him visit my second grade class speaking to the children about how a heart works and how important it was to have a healthy heart. He was a natural teacher. The children loved him. He had a powerful and kind presence. He had a brilliant mind and an unassuming nature. Dr. Nash was a sharp dresser and was a perfect gentleman. It was obvious how much he loved his profession and his family. You could see how close all of the family members were. They all visited the classroom from time to time because two of his grandchildren were students of mine. I saw him throughout several years. He was a special, wonderful , one of a kind man and I always enjoyed our talks. It was a pleasure to know him. It is never easy to have someone we have loved so much leave us, but the bonds of love will never fade and the life lessons taught remain with us forever in their memory.
Sincerely, Cheryl Goodfellow

We recently learned of Dr. Nash's passing. Dr. Nash was the first Medical Director of Onondaga County Health Dept. Home Care Program. I met him since I was employed as a Public Health Nurse. Our meetings with Dr. Nash were so informative and pleasant to attend. Later he became my primary doctor for several years until I moved away from Syracuse. Many years later we returned and my husband Jim was a patient of his son, Dr. Stephen Nash, cardiologist. Jim had the privilege of meeting Dr. David Nash when he was in Stephen's office one day. Jim was impressed by his gentleness, compassion for others, and his thorough knowledge of his field.

I am very sorry to read this sad news. I recall meeting with Dr. Nash several times when I was a PhD candidate at Syracuse University. I was completing my doctoral dissertation on cardiovascular reactivity and its relationship to a number of psychological variables.

Dr. Nash also met with another PhD candidate about this time, a colleague who had also conducted research in the University's Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratories. Dr Nash was then a practicing cardiologist who was very interested in ongoing cardiovascular related research. My research colleague and I very much appreciated his wisdom and research contributions. His is a very great loss to the health care community. May he rest in final and eternal peace.

Dr. Nash was my physician in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I remember him as being kind, understanding, and upbeat. He was always accommodating if I had to make an appointment for an early or late hour. I also remember the white Lincoln he drove with DTNMD plates. He was a truly good person, always generous with his honesty and wisdom.

As a RN in CCU, I worked with Dr. Nash at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a fine person as well as a fine physician. It was a pleasure to work with him. He was a brilliant physician and remarkable person.

Dear Steve and Family,
You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Dad. I worked with Dr. Nash for many years in Home Care Service provided by Onondaga County Health Dept. He will truly be missed by the many "hearts" he touched. He was a great and caring professional respected by everyone.
