David Charles Nelson, 65, of Weare, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born on October 23rd, 1960, to Stanley and Doris Nelson. He was raised in Weare and spent the entirety of his life at the home and farm he was raised in.
David graduated from Weare High School in 1978. He spent his early adult life working at Dodge's farm in New Boston. David later started his own business "Nelson's Logging" which he ran for many years. He later worked for Dave Burl Land Clearing for over 20 years. David plowed snow, bailed hay, and did anything to support his family. David was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back for others and never ask for anything in return.
David loved fishing, hunting, farming, caring for animals, and enjoying baseball with his son, David Jr.
David is survived by his wife, Jessica Nelson; his son, David Nelson Jr. and his wife Alyssa Nelson; his daughter Vanessa Gorman-Dow; his two grandchildren, Aiden and Bella; his brothers John, Stanley, Tom, Richard; and his sisters, Gladys, and Louis. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Joseph; and his sisters, Mary and Evelyn.
Services will be held at the New Boston Baptist Church, 184 Mont Vernon Road, New Boston, NH on Saturday, January 31st at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help sustain the Nelson family farm, where he poured his heart and soul. Contributions can be made to "Nelson Family Farm Fund" at https://www.givesendgo.com/GN38P
Every gift will help keep the farm thriving in their memory
