Gregory Allen Nelson, Sr., 58 of Sap Oak Community, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Funeral services for Greg will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Glenn Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Sap Oak Cemetery, Erath County. Visitation with the Nelson family will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, August 16th, at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Greg was born on September 15, 1966, in Big Spring, Texas, to the late Grady Clinton and Patricia Jewel Bryson Nelson. He married the love of his life, Jennifer York, on March 17, 2001, in Stephenville. Greg spent most of his life in Big Spring, and the past 21 years in Erath County. He was a member of the Morgan Mill Church of Christ. Greg loved to spend time with his family, he loved his dogs, going camping, and was excellent at woodworking. While living in Big Spring he worked with the Special Olympics organization which he was very proud of. He spent most of his life as a Paramedic and in the Nursing Profession.
Greg is survived by his wife, Jennifer; sons, Greg Nelson, Jr. and wife, Jodi, Clinton Nelson and daughter Abigail Nelson; brother, Billy Nelson and sister Kellie Lee; and many nieces and nephews that he loved so much. Besides his parents, Greg was also preceded in death by a grandmother, Valta Brock; and a cousin, Mark Hall.
