Billy Dean McDonald, 72, of Stephenville, passed away on February 3, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas.
A graveside service for Billy will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Oak Dale Cemetery with Doug Young officiating. The McDonald Family will receive visitors on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 6:00 –8:00 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas.
Billy was born to William Walter McDonald and Laverne Powell McDonald on January 28, 1954 in Rochelle, Texas. He married Norma Jane Pack on September 3, 1983 in Stephenville, Texas.
Billy retired from FMC after 18 years of service and was a lifelong farmer. He is survived by his children, Craig McDonald and wife Angela of Throckmorton, Michelle McDonald of College Station, Ashli McDonald, Janae Smith and husband Chris of Stephenville, and his sister, Mary Keese of Rochelle, and numerous nieces and nephews . He was a beloved grandfather (Pops) to six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Billy loved classic cars and classic rock with Fleetwood Mac being one of his favorites. He was there for anyone that ever needed his help. He spent most of his retirement days devotingly taking care of his wife, Jane, and teaching his granddaughter, Lola, the duties of a farmer. He loved to share his knowledge of farming, hard earned wisdom, and advice with anyone who listened. He was the definition of a caretaker and provider for his family.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marcia Aarons of Rochelle and his wife of 38 years, Norma Jane McDonald.
