David Nickerson, Sr. Obituary
Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. David George Nickerson, Sr., age 81, will be held 11:00 am on Saturday August 24, 2024, in the Redd's Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard McWhite officiating. Pallbearers will be Andrew Beyler, David Nickerson, Jr., Marc Nickerson, Bryce Beyler, Steve Ford, and Bryan Moore. Interment will follow with military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Team. Mr. Nickerson entered into rest on Thursday August 15, 2024, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Esther Richardson Nickerson and a son to the late Mr. George H. Nickerson and the late Mrs. Eloise Hestly Nickerson. Mr. Nickerson born in Ottawa-Ontario, Canada, but grew up in Atlanta, GA. He had made the Aiken area his home since 2008. Mr. Nickerson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam war era. He worked in maintenance for 25 years at Eastern Airlines in Atlanta, GA, then 15 years for Photo Circuit in Peachtree City, GA, retiring in 2005. When he moved to Aiken, he started with Walmart on Whiskey Rd as an assembler for eight years. Mr. Nickerson attended Redd's Branch Baptist Church, Aiken, SC. His hobbies included fishing, coin collecting, and genealogy. Additional Survivors include: two sons David George (Fiancé Andrea Downs) Nickerson, Jr., Athens, GA, and Marcus Wade (Erin) Nickerson, Jefferson, GA; one daughter Tanya (Bryce) Beyler, Acworth, GA; two sisters Marguerite Prato, St. Augustine, FL, and Rosalee Stinson, Blue Ridge, GA; and two grandchildren Alyssa Beyler and Andrew Beyler. Mr. Nickerson was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Jean Nickerson. A visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to service in the Redd's Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Redd's Branch Baptist Church, 390 Redds Branch Church Road, Aiken, SC 29801.
