Obituary of David L Opper
David Lloyd Opper, born on September 17, 1957, in Peoria, IL, passed away on October 28, 2024, in La Porte, TX. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Mary Opper, and their children: son Jason Francis, daughter Jenny Tiner, daughter-in-law Amanda Francis and son in law Shawn Tiner. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Bailey, Kaylee, Breighana, Lileighana, Fenix, Ares, Ryker, Brayden, and Hollie, as well as grandson Xavier. David is also survived by his brother, Doug Opper.
A dedicated project manager in A/C logistics for 25 years, David exemplified hard work, loyalty, and dedication throughout his career. He was known for his honesty and stability, traits that made him a rock for his family. David's unwavering support and selfless sacrifices have left a lasting impact on the lives of his children and loved ones.
An avid outdoors man, David a marksman with a bow enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a passionate gamer and spent years gaming with his son and grandsons. His love for nature was evident in his favorite pastime of bird watching. David also enjoyed indulging in wild game and often found tinkering with his Harley while listening to classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin.
He was a pillar of strength for his family; they knew they could always count on. He will be remembered not only for his hobbies but also for his quiet sense of humor and strong, steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him. David leaves behind a legacy of dedication, strength, and love and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
