Our church was always blessed, encouraged and motivated to serve God after His servant David Owen would faithfully preach God's Word. David and Heather were a team and always left us closer to the Throne than we were before they came to minister to our small church in Hastings. David preached as if there were thousands though there were few. But the lives that were changed through His faithfull preaching of God's Word is still bearing fruit today. Our church is greatful to have had David Owen as our Advising Elder, teacher and my Pastor and friend.

Dear Bill and Sherry:
So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I still remember what a riot it was visiting with both him and your mom when we attended Music Minnesota. It's comforting to know that he's finally home.
Our prayers are with you and your families during this time of sorrow.
I trust that you will have a wonderful service of celebration of his life.
With love,
David and Trish

Bill & Sherry & Family,
We were sad to hear of your dad's passing. Everyone here used to love it when he came to preach and many, ourselves included, would stay for the second service just to hear him again. We are happy for him, though, now that he has both the relief and the reward that he has long awaited. We're glad for Mrs Owen also that she has four good sons to look after her.
May God continue to bless you all.

Both my wife Elizabeth and I were sad to hear of Uncle Dave's death.
Our last memory of him is when he and Heather spent a few days with us at Shrewsbury where I was then the Pastor of the local Apostolic Church.
I was just a little boy when he and his family went to America but through the years we have always maintained contact.Whenever Uncle Dave and & Auntie Heather came back to the UK for a visit we would make the effort to see them and to hear Him preaching at least once. I still remember some of his inspiring messages. Even though He was regarded as an international preacher he was always pleased to come and preach at 'little' chapels in Wales.Elizabeth and I send our love to Heather and the boys and their families and our prayers are that the God of all comfort will bless comfort and sustain you at this sad time.
Uncle Dave is now recieving his reward and an entrance is being abundantly supplied for him into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
God Bless You All

Dear Bill, Sherry and Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your father. I know that he was a stalwart figure among your family. Though I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him for very long he made a lasting impression on me with his sincere love for others and the gentle way he taught the word of God which he so dearly loved. I will join the litany of others who mourn his leaving but rejoice in his eternal presence with the Father. My prayers will be with you in this difficult time.

Our family has been greatly blessed by Pastor David and his wonderful bride Heather. Annette and I brought our daughter Steph over for weekly piano lessons with Heather. Pastor David and I would often walk outside during that time and he would mentor me from his love and deep knowledge of God's Word! We would then all have tea together, enjoy music and Godly fellowship with edifying discusssion. It was always a memorable delight. After one of our final walks together I was honored to give Pastor David his last motorcycle ride. He was truly a great loving Ambassador of Christ.

My favorite story of Brother Owen is one told by a friend of mine (Tony Handy).
In one of the classes Brother Owen taught on preaching, he was lecturing on the importance of minding your words. He then said, "But, BUT,... and this is the BIG but..." At that point, my friend said he and a few others began laughing. Brother Owen began to become indignant and called out the rascals to explain their outburst. They explained that Brother Owen had just broken his own admonition. A change then came over David's face, and he, too, laughed. "Do you see what I mean, my friends?", he asked between his own guffaws, "Be careful what you say!".
He was such a humble and loveable and wonderful man, and he taught me through that incident not to take myself too seriously (as he indeed taught me in person), and to laugh in life and faith. I will dearly miss him and look forward to life eternal with him.
