Dave Ozuna was one of a kind. Dave always made time for his family and friends. He was a loyal friend and seemed to know everyone. Dave always found kind words to say and made his audience feel like family. It will seem strange attending his funeral as I sat with him at many a Carbider´s funeral. When I visited with him at the last UCC Christmas gathering, he seemed weaker and very melancholy as he shared details of his illness. I had never seen him like this and I suspected he was not doing well as he was absent at this summers event. His emails slowed down and every so often he mentioned his health challenges.
Dave and I worked for Union Carbide for many years during many situations and I will attest that he was always the same Ol´ Dave; performing his duties as an operator, fighting a fire, instructing firefighters, serving on start-up teams, supervising his employees, serving on committees, serving on boards, leading and planning retiree functions and being a respected member of the community and his family. Dave enjoyed his life.
My condolences to his family and friends......We will miss you Dave.
