David Paasch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Dec. 31, 2025.
David entered the gates of Heaven peacefully on December 29, 2025.

He was born on August 30, 1960, in Aurora, Illinois, to the late Janice "Jan" and Lee Paasch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Linus Reed, and his brothers, Danny Paasch and Todd Paasch.

David is survived by his loving wife, Melody Paasch, of eight years, though they were together for eighteen years; his beloved fur babies, Millie Mae, Stella, Cedar, Oli, Abbie, Gracie, Molly, Moses, Hannah, Isaiah, and Bean; his brother, Tommy Ham (Karyn) of Georgia; his sister, Holly Ham of Georgia; his son, Derek Tabner of Texas; his granddaughter, Merida Tabner of Texas; his stepdaughter, Pearl Graham (Lucas) of North Carolina; and his brothers-in-law, Clarence (Mary Jean) of North Carolina and Don Hobart Jr. of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Lorrie (Tony) of North Carolina.

David was a truck driver for 43 years. He loved the Lord and walked faithfully with God. An avid lover of nature, whenever he was home, he could be found in the woods, enjoying God's creation and blessings. David promised the Lord he would take care of His blessings and protect them with his life, which he did faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He also loved woodworking, taking trees from the woods, turning them into boards, and building something beautiful with them. When David wasn't in the woods or at work, his enjoyment turned to the love of a bonfire or campfire with Melody. He loved grilling outside over a campfire, and the days he enjoyed on the boat.

Your shift is done driver you are home with Jesus. Rest now, my precious husband.

There will be a celebration of life at a later time.
