Lavonne "Bonnie" Paasch, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in her home at Lake House Sheboygan.
Bonnie was born on January 9, 1937, in Sheboygan to Ezra and Lydia (Haut) Charles. She grew up in Sheboygan and graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1955. She later attended community College to become a teacher.
Before marriage, Bonnie worked at the Piggly Wiggly bakery in Berlin, where she was known for her warm personality and love of baking. She later worked as a teacher's aide in Milwaukee, helping young students thrive in the classroom.
On June 23, 1961, Bonnie married the love of her life, David "Dave" Paasch, in Sheboygan. Together, they built a wonderful life, celebrating 57 years of marriage and raising two children, Jessica Embers (formerly Jeffrey Paasch) of Fond du Lac, WI, and Robbie Paasch of Chilton, WI.
Bonnie was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. She cherished time with her grandchildren, Lydia (Andy) Turczyn of River Falls, Mason Paasch of Fond du Lac, and Cassie (Anthony) Bauer of Fond du Lac, as well as her eight great-grandchildren.
Bonnie found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved bringing people together, whether for holiday celebrations, card games, or simply sharing a meal. The 4th of July was especially meaningful to her, as she cherished the annual Big Red celebration up north, creating long lasting memories with those she loved. She had a standing tradition of "martini time" each week, a ritual she enjoyed no matter the occasion. With a camera always in hand, Bonnie was dedicated to capturing special moments, ensuring that every cherished memory was preserved.
Bonnie and Dave moved to the Northwoods in 1974, where they embraced the close-knit community and made countless memories with family and friends. Bonnie was an active member of the Ranger City Riders snowmobile club in Amberg, WI. After years of enjoying life up north, they decided to trade the Wisconsin winters for the warmth of Florida, where they made their home for 22 wonderful years. In Florida, Bonnie became involved with the Brooksville Campers Club, continuing her love of camping and gathering with friends and making the most of every moment.
Bonnie is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Sandy Charles, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dave; her parents, Ezra and Lydia; her sister, Carlene Tasche; her brother-in-law, Fritz Tasche; and her brother, Edwin Charles.
Per Bonnie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral will be held in the chapel building at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Sheboygan at 10:00 AM on May 17, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held at Bourbon Street Pub & Grill in Sheboygan immediately following the funeral.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and family who have loved and cherished her, and those who have visited her in the last few years since she moved back to Wisconsin. A special thank you to the staff at Lake House Sheboygan and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.
