David Parsons Jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 10, 2025.
David Taylor Parsons Jr. (Dave), beloved husband, father, and friend, died on July 22, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 90. He was born on December 27, 1934, in New York City and grew up in East Dorset, Vermont, where his parents created Mad Tom Orchard. Vermont held his heart, its mountains and history. He loved the orchard and Vermont seasons.

Dave is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Karet, his children, Kirsten, Taylor, and Reeger, and his five stepchildren, Rich, Rob, Ken, Steve, and Joan. He loved history, books, and all things Vermont. He welcomed people with a smile and a story, and many came to think of him as their other father.

He raised his three children on his own for seven years, then married the love of his life, Wendy Parsons, and embraced five more. He showed up. He listened. He gave more than he kept. That measure mattered to him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the United Church of Dorset & East Rupert in Dorset, Vermont. All are welcome to attend. Friends and family are invited downstairs for lunch, a time to share memories and laughter. In lieu of flowers, donate to the Dorset Historical Society.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
