David Parton age 82 of White Pine, formerly of Sevierville, passed away at his home Friday, November 15, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Donnie; father and mother, Robert Lee and Avie Lee Owens Parton; brothers, Larry, Floyd, & Randy Parton; niece, Tever Parton; sisters-in-law, Mary Velez & Carolyn Parton; brothers-in-law, Mickey Crocker, Jim Lane, Jerry Lane, and John (Linda) Lane.
David retired from Simpson Construction as a bridge builder superintendent; and worked on many of the bridges in the Kingsport, Johnson City, and Knoxville areas.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kay Parton; his “nephew / son”, Lucas Townsend; daughters, Donna Parton, Dena (Tommy) Lane; grandsons, Jordan Bell, Jared Bell, Brody Lane, Randy Lane, & Taylor Lane; great-grandchildren, Shadow & Shayde Bell and Ellie Lane; brothers, Denver Parton & Bobby Parton; sisters, Willadene Parton, Dolly (Carl) Dean, Stella Parton, Cassie (Greg) Griffin, Freida Parton & Rachel (Eric) George; brother-in-law, Tommy (Martha) Lane; sisters-in-law, Lorene Lane, Sue (Everette) Tipton, Rita (Jim) Helton, Linda Lane, and Becky Harvel.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. David McNabney, Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice, his Cornerstone caregiver, Aubrie Smith & caregiver, Robin Schmidt.
A funeral service will be held at 7PM, Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Leadvale Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Rev. Brandon Cate officiating. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service.
Graveside Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Dandridge Memorial Gardens at 2:00pm
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leadvale Baptist Church, 874 Leadvale Church Road - White Pine, TN 37890.
