David Arseo Patino

David Arseo Patino, aged 68, passed away on August 29,
2024, in Palm Desert, CA. Born on March 9, 1956, Dave spent his
formative years attending Indio public schools, graduating from
Indio High School in 1974. Later he furthered his education at
College of the Desert.
Dave dedicated two decades of his life to law enforcement, serving
the Indio Police Department from 1979 until his retirement in 1999
as a Sergeant. In his off-time he volunteered as a football coach for
Cathedral City HS and Indio HS. Following his retirement, he
transitioned into security work, taking on roles across Southern
California, including a notable position at the McCallum Theater in
Palm Desert. In 2005, he founded Patino Protective Services (PPS),
which he managed until his passing.
Beyond his professional life, Dave was a passionate supporter of the Rams and Dodgers,
relishing the thrill of live games and collecting sports memorabilia. His love for music also saw
him attending numerous live events, cherishing the vibrant atmospheres.
Dave is survived by his son, Brandon Patino, his brother Manuel Patino, his sister Susie Patino,
and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Patino; his
mother, Annie Arseo Dinnerstein; his brother, Victor Patino; stepdaughter, Allison Anderson;
grandparents Manuel and Mercedes Patino and other beloved family members.
A public funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on October 7, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church in Palm Desert, followed by a private reception. There will be no graveside service.
In remembrance of Dave's life, the family requests charitable donations be made to The Boys &
Girls Club of Indio, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), or Sacred Heart Catholic Church of
Palm Desert, in lieu of flowers.
