David W. Patton, Sr., 77, of Utica, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born July 18, 1948, in Daviess County, KY, to the late Henry and Mary Payne Patton. David spent 47 years working for Clark’s Restaurant Service, retiring after many years as a salesman. He was loved by his many customers, even receiving the honor of Kentucky Colonel after being sponsored by one of his customers. David was an avid car enthusiast, having owned and built several muscle cars, including Chevelles and Novas. He passed that passion and mechanical knowledge on to his sons. He had strong faith and was a long-time member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Robert Patton, and sister-in-law Sharon Langkam.
David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; sons, David W. Patton, Jr., James Patton (April), and Jason Patton; grandchildren, Parker and Carter; a sister, Patricia Fitzgerald (Carl); sister-in-law, Martha Patton; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife Mary’s immediate family; siblings, Jessie Allen (Myra), Tony Duncan, Tracy Millay, and Carol Adams; as well as special Aunts and Uncles, Dan and Carol Davenport, Paul and Juanita Wilcox, and Barbara Woods.
The funeral service for David will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
