David Peak Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Givnish Funeral Home - Cinnaminson on Dec. 31, 2025.
David Wheaton Peak, of Delran, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on December 30, 2025. He was 88 years old.

Born on October 28, 1937, in Camden, NJ, David was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (nee Wheaton) Peak. He was raised in Pennsauken, NJ, and was a proud graduate of Merchantville High School, Class of 1956. During his school years, David sang bass in the choir and was a member of a barbershop quartet, reflecting a lifelong love of music.

Following graduation, David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Dover, Delaware, working as an airplane mechanic.

He proudly worked at PSE&G as a Benefits Coordinator, retiring after 37 years. After retirement, he worked as a limousine driver and then moved on to be a maintenance worker at Williowbrook Country Club.

Music remained a constant joy throughout his life. He especially loved gospel music, including the music of Bill Gaither, as well as "oldies but goodies" from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. David also enjoyed an active lifestyle, participating in golf, baseball, bowling, and tennis. He loved spending time in Ocean City, working outdoors, and woodworking-particularly refinishing furniture and creating things with his hands.

David was a former Mason and a member of Beverly Riverside Lodge No. 107. He will be remembered as a sweet, quiet, gentle giant with a great sense of humor and a kind heart.

David was the beloved husband of Shirley Ann (nee Hunt), with whom he shared 50 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Gregory T. Kyriacos (Lisa), Kevin Peak (Morgan), David Peak (Maya), and Kelly Ann Clark (Matt); a grandfather of Nicole and Karina; and a great-grandfather of Miles. He was a dear uncle to Laura Peak. David was predeceased by his brother, William Peak.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 10th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
