David Neal Pearch Born May 2, 1936 – Passed November 21, 2025
David Neal Pearch, beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Born in Akron, Ohio, David's life journey carried him across the country, with cherished years spent in
Phoenix, Arizona; Hoodsport, Washington; and Peoria, Arizona.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, David served his country with honor and carried that spirit of dedication throughout his life. After completing his service, David returned home to Ohio and found work at the Goodyear Tire Company and the United States Post Office. David worked nights to support his family so that he could continue his education and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. After teaching, David changed his career to Safety Engineer in which he received many accolades from his peers and continued until his retirement. David's proudest moment came at Mason General Hospital when he was recognized as Employee of the Month in November, 2007.
David was known for his quick wit and love of wordplay. His puns brought laughter to family and friends alike. However, he found the most pleasure when his "puns" resulted in "groans". He was also a gifted creative writer, leaving behind stories and reflections that captured his imagination and humor. He was the ultimate "Do It Yourself-er" and enjoyed the challenge of figuring things out.
One of David's passions was sailing, and he found joy on the water where the wind and waves became his challenge and his sanctuary. In addition to his love of sailing and writing, David enjoyed shooting pool, a pastime he enjoyed spending with his family, that reflected both his analytical and easygoing nature.
David leaves behind his children Steven (Dora) Pearch, Daniel Pearch (partner Herm Sinoy), Karen (Bob) Leonard, Angela (Tim) Birch, Annette (Thaddeus) Webster, and his grandchildren, Robert Leonard, Victoria Leonard, Rebecca Leonard, (fiancé Tony Pisano), Brianna Pearch, James Pearch, Garrett Birch, Mara Webster, Jude Webster, Cameron Birch, along with his former wife Lois (Shadley) Pearch, and his loving friend Bonnie Fernandez. He is preceded in death by his wife, Francine Pearch, his parents Meredith (McIlvaine) Pearch and Frank Pearch; his Sister and Brother-in-law, Edith (Dave) Bowman; and his cousins Joyce Gerber and Florence Craven.
David will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love of language, and the warmth and wisdom he shared with everyone he met. David's legacy of creativity and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held in early January 2026. Details will be provided at a later date. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of David Neal Pearch, please visit our floral store.
