David Mark Peterson, 58, a longtime resident of Marion, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 after a short struggle with ALS. He was born in Boston, son of the late Carl R. and Elsa A. (Aanensen) Peterson. Dave was raised and educated in Dedham before graduating from Quinobin Regional Technical Vocational School in Wellesley. He has resided in Marion since 2007. He loved woodworking and was a self-employed cabinet maker for most of his life. Dave loved playing darts and was a member of the Ex-Patriots in his dart league. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Dave is survived by his brothers, Carl “Arne” Peterson and his wife Sandra of Lakeville, Roland E. “Rick” Peterson and his wife Janna of Sharon and Paul S. Peterson and his wife Ewa of Brockton. He is also survived by his dear friend, Elizabeth Channel as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 29 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Services will be private.
