Mr. David Allen Phillips, age 64, of Mebane, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Charles Eugene Phillips, Sr. and the late Bessie Parrish Phillips and was married for 45 years to the love of his life, Mrs. Susan Garner Phillips, who survives. He was a career truck driver and drove with Burlington Industries for over 15 years before moving to Air Products where he was employed for 16 years and received the 1,000,000 Mile Safe Driving Award. David was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mebane and enjoyed several hobbies including working in his yard, riding his Cub Cadet, fishing and enjoying his motorcycles and trucks. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. During his lengthy battle with cancer he would never complain and he always had a positive attitude.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of the home and was the love of her life; his two children, Tyler Phillips (Randa) and Lindsey Phillips; four grandchildren, Chasen Phillips, Kyleigh Phillips, Charleigh Lawson and Carter Lawson; a brother, Charles “Gene” Phillips, Jr. (Deborah); a sister, Judy Ann Phillips Hyder (Joel); a nephew, Brian Phillips; and his fur babies, “Willa” and “Ace”. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Charles E. “Tripp” Phillips III.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sammy Ballard. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:45 AM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
