DAVID MONROE PORTER

Bakersfield – David Monroe Porter, aged 79, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Bakersfield, CA. Born on May 13, 1946, David's life was marked by dedication, both in his professional and personal endeavors.

David served honorably in the Air Force from September 13, 1965, to September 12, 1971, a period during which he developed a profound sense of discipline and commitment. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as an oilfield worker before advancing to become a petroleum engineer, roles that highlighted his hardworking nature and his ability to face challenges head-on.

Known for his honesty and friendly demeanor, David was deeply social and cherished connections with those around him. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

David is mourned by his children, Michael Porter, Patricia Fanucchi, and Kathleen Glaze, and his four grandchildren, Bryson, Olivia, Macy, and Johnathan. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. His passing was preceded by his beloved wife, Mary Melissa Porter, his parents, Donald Myron and Martha Lena Porter, and his brother, Robert Porter.

Services to honor David's life will be held on July 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Bakersfield National Cemetery, where friends, family, and acquaintances will gather to pay their respects to a man who was truly friendly to all.
