David Lynn Posey

David Lynn Posey, of Van, Texas, left this world on November 14, 2025. He was born December 11, 1967 in McKinney, Texas to Charley Posey and Dorothy Chambers Stiefer. He is preceded in death by both his parents as well as his brother Joshua Wayne Chambers, sister Linda Lee Melton, nephew Jesse Wayne Cooper and niece Delaiah Dawn Cooksy. He leaves behind his wife of twenty years Tammy Posey,they were married on February 12,2005. Three step-children, Earl Ruggles Jr of Tulsa, Oklahoma, James Ruggles of Canton, Texas, Shawnda Burns of Van, Texas. Brothers Charles Forder of Tyler,Texas, Boyd Hale of Edom, Texas, Easy Jones of Beaumont, Texas, and Randy Posey of Van, Texas. Sisters Tonia Cooksy of Commerce, Texas and Lisa White of Campbell, Texas as well as many nephew and nieces. He loved his role as an Uncle and being the favorite babysitter to his nephews and nieces. He was a vivid fisherman and loved the outdoors, especially camping with his favorite cousin Clint Chambers and wife Jennifer. He was a really smooth dancer and could two-step like nobody's business. His favorite cousin Clint Chambers will be hosting a memorial service/ fish fry in David's honor on December 13,2025 between 3pm-6pm. Cheryl Chambers will be officiating the service. Special thanks to Roy Bentacourt and the paramedics for all that they done for David.
