Edna Hodges Rush Posey, 83, of Greenwood, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Sloan Edward Hodges and Grace Cobb Hodges. Edna was a member of Harris Baptist Church and a devoted homemaker, finding joy and purpose in her family and home. She was known as the queen of her family, a pillar of love and support who cherished family gatherings and celebrations. Her warmth and nurturing spirit created a welcoming environment for all who entered her life. Edna was passionate about her faith, loved worshiping Jesus, and her greatest desire was for her family to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior. Her warmth and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.

She was twice married first to the late Livy Rodgers Rush and second to the late Jerry Posey. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Jean Speir, Mary Ann Stroud, Nancy O'Dell, Nell McAlister, Bill Hodges and Marshall Hodges.

Surviving are her children: David Rush (Tracee), Donna Rush Rowland (Eddie), Darrell Rush, Daniel Rush (Kristie), Derek Posey and Diana Posey Tucker; sister, Lynda Tanner; grandchildren: Malloree Dawson (Thomas), Jake Brandt (Leah), Grayson Brandt (Emy), James E Rowland, III (Cassie), Amanda Dunlap (Wells), Anna Rowland, Kaylyn Powell, Kamron Rush (Selena), Benjamin Rush, Chandler Gibert (Cameron), Watson Tucker and Julia Tucker; great grandchildren: Hampton Brandt, Eleanor Brandt, Wynn Rowland, Griff Rowland, Rufus Dunlap, Livy Dunlap, Rush Dunlap, Avery Rowland and Adelyn Rush; sisters-in-law, Jimmie Hodges, Mary Hill (Lewis), Martha Suell and Lynn Hodges; brother-in-law, Tommy O'Dell; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Harris Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Brad O'Dell, Paul O'Dell, Tim Hodges, Tony McAlister, Dwight Stroud, Travis Allen, Carroll Speir and Steve Speir.

The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 1-2pm.

The family is at the home of Donna & Eddie Rowland, 605 Emerald Farm Road, Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Edna Posey Account c/o Harley Funeral Home, PO Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29648.
