David E Powell

David E Powell of Ickesburg PA, entered eternal rest at Penn State Health Hampden on Tuesday,
September 23, 2025. He was born February 22, 1948, to Max E. and Chloe (Secrist) Powell. Dave is a
1966 graduate of West Perry High School. Dave is a United States Army Veteran, Chaplain of
American Legion Post #177 in Newport PA and, is a member of the Newport Masonic Lodge. He is a
Philadelphia Phillies fanatic and a long-time lover of dirt track racing. Dave proudly supported his
son's racing career for 27 years and was the backbone to Powell Racing. Above all, Dave loved his
sons, granddaughter, and family.
Dave is survived by his two sons, Bill Powell (Stephanie) and James Powell, Granddaughter Chloe
Powell (partner Francisco), Mother Chloe "Billie" Powell, Brothers Brent Powell (Anita), Tom Powell
(Susan), Nephew Jan Powell (Krista), Nieces, Ashley Albert (Justin), Amber Reeder (Brad), Amy Bolze
(Jeff); five great-nephews and five great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his Father, Max Powell
and Niece Jill Powell.
A viewing will be held at Eshcol Brethren in Christ located at 12755 Buffalo Trace, Newport PA, on
October 2, 2025, from 1 pm to 2 pm with funeral services to begin at 2 pm. Private burial services will
take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eschol Brethren in Christ Church.
