David E Preston

David Eugene Preston, known to many as Dave, took his final joyride across the Great Divide on February 22, 2026, at the age of 48. Born in Akron, Ohio on December 17, 1977, he remained a proud Akron native throughout his life.

Dave was known as an ace mechanic and a gifted handyman whose hands could revive anything from tired engines to stubborn electronics. He loved restoring bikes, cars, and the occasional vintage radio, always believing that if something made noise, it was worth fixing. The hum of machinery and the company of his pets were his peace, and his love for loud music was legendary-neighbors often heard him before they saw him.

His humor was quick, his laughter contagious, and his optimism unwavering. Whether as a brother, a father, or the cool uncle, Dave had a way of lifting spirits and finding the joke in any situation.

Dave's spirit lives on through his family: his mother, Marcella, his stepfather, Steve, and his siblings Billy, John, Richard, Ronnie, Davina, and Tabatha. His greatest pride was his children-David, Austin, Chandler, Jennifer, and Marcella-who carry forward his spark and his stubborn joy.

Dave was a loud force, a creator of smiles, and a man who lived life with the volume all the way up. He leaves behind a trail of laughter and unforgettable memories.

Family and friends are invited to his calling hours on Thursday, March 5th at 6:00 PM at Paquelet Falk Funeral Home, 303 South Chapel Street, Louisville, OH 44641.
