David J. "Dave" Price

David J. "Dave" Price, age 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026 surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on March 23, 1948, in Corunna, MI, to George and Agnes (Cunningham) Price.
Dave graduated from Corunna High School in 1966 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in marketing from Western Michigan University.

On May 27, 1972, he married the love of his life, Nancy J. Weersing, in Muskegon, and she survives him.
Dave and his business partner Bernie McKenzie founded McKenzie-Price Insurance Agency. He proudly co-owned and operated the business for 35 years, working with his son Andy for 9 years there before retiring on January 11, 2011. Dave was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Greater Muskegon Jaycees, and he served as past president of the Muskegon Lions Club. An avid golfer, he was a dedicated member and past president of the Muskegon Country Club, where he earned the title of Club Champion three times. He was also a Muskegon County Golf Champion, a former director and tournament official of the Golf Association of Michigan, a USGA course rater, and recently was unanimously elected as an Honored Governor of the Golf Association of Michigan, one of the organization's highest distinctions. Over the years, he celebrated four holes-in-one. He greatly enjoyed the weekly lunch meetings with his lifelong friends and watching his grandchildren grow. Dave was also a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
SURVIVORS include his wife of 53 years, Nancy; two sons, Kevin (Chiho) Price of Japan and Andy (Tracy) Price of Norton Shores; three grandchildren, Adrianna, Aubrey, and Sana Price; brother, Richard (Peggy) Price of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Patricia "Pat" Moore of Owosso, MI and Mary Haas of Owosso, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Agnes Price and an infant sister, Ruth Ann Price.
A MEMORIAL MASS for Dave will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Geerlings presiding. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100, and also one hour prior to the mass at the church.
David will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
