David “DJ” Prohaska, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the age of 44. Loving husband of Ashley Prohaska; beloved son of Sheri Prohaska and the late David I. Prohaska; devoted father of Avery Prohaska, Reagan Prohaska and Nora Prohaska; cherished brother of Cody (Dre) Prohaska and Rena Tripp; treasured uncle of Lukas Aubuchon, Haylie Aubuchon, Mayson Tripp, Ella Friedman, Camron Tripp and Jaxon Friedman.
DJ was a true family man and especially loved spending time with his daughters. Every year it was a tradition to do a fishing trip together as a family on Father’s Day, which was so special for all of them. He enjoyed traveling, and he and Ashley celebrated their honeymoon on a European Cruise. They also took a family trip to Disney in 2020.
DJ worked in the Non-Destructive testing industry, and he was an NDT Level 3, Director of Training & Consulting, Radiation Safety Officer and Quality Manager. He took pride in his job and always looked forward to going to work.
As an outdoorsman, DJ loved fishing and often took fishing trips with his brother and friends. He also loved playing pool with his buddies and was a member of Missouri 8 Ball and participated in tournaments. He enjoyed the open road and looked forward to the times when he was able to take out his Harley for a good, long ride.
DJ was very much a handyman as well, and he enjoyed building things around the house and for his family. In his free time, he built a swing set in the back yard, and a playroom in the basement for his daughters. He was also a very talented artist and liked to draw whenever he got the chance. DJ was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan and enjoyed watching their games.
DJ was known for his great, sarcastic sense of humor and witty jokes. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to Gary Sinise Foundation.
