David was in many of my elementary classes at Hillcrest Elementary in North Bend. I always loved his sense of humor. My fondest memory of David was at North Bend High School when John F. Kennedy came to speak in 1960. After his speech, we all mobbed him for an autograph, and then I remember David giving up his place in line for me to get Kennedy´s autograph. I still have that autograph and have never forgotten that kind gesture. We lost contact after high school, but did reconnect at the 20th reunion. I have only fond memories of David growing up in North Bend.
