Dorothy Joyce Quick, age 91, of St. Johns, Michigan, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 20, 2025. Born on December 6, 1933, in St. Johns, she was the daughter of Tom and Blanche (Dikeman) Parks.
A proud graduate of Rodney B. Wilson High School, Dorothy went on to serve her community for many years as the assistant manager of the D & C Store in St. Johns. On April 1, 1953, she married the love of her life, James "Jim" Quick, in St. Johns. Together, they shared 72 beautiful years of marriage and raised four children.
Dorothy's greatest joy came from her family. She cherished every moment spent watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in school, church, and sporting events.
On April 14, 2001, Dorothy converted to Catholicism and became a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, where her faith grew deeper and more personal.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Jim; daughters Kathy (John) Harmon, Bonnie (Jeff) Hettler, and Dianne Toth (Jesse Case); and her cherished grandchildren: Kelly (Abdullah) Muhammad, Sarah (Tyler) Navin, Traci (Aaron) Downing, Lisa Dickenson, Jason (Joey) Hettler, Kevin (Liz) Hettler, Amy (Kevin) Simpson, and Tim (Samone) Toth. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Quick; son-in-law, Tim Toth; grandsons, Brandon Quick and Jim Harmon; her brothers, Raymond, Herbert, Tom, and Sam Parks; and sisters, Ruth Riley and Phyllis Welton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4-8 PM at McGeehan Funeral Home – Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, with a Scripture Service beginning at 7 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Linden Street, St. Johns. Visitation will begin at 10 AM at the church. Following the Mass, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Mt. Rest Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Columbian Hall.
