David E. "Big Dave" Rebello, 81, of Fairhaven, died peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Porter) Rebello.
Born on the family farm in Fairhaven, son of the late Manuel "Mickey" and Elsie (DeRego) Rebello, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before returning to Fairhaven.
Dave enjoyed fishing, going to Foxwoods, and spending time with his family. He loved coaching football, baseball and basketball for his son and grandson. He was a member of the Livesey Club in Fairhaven. In his free time he enjoyed volunteering at the Shepherd's pantry in Acushnet. Dave went out to breakfast every morning and liked trying out new restaurants.
Dave worked as a UPS driver in Fairhaven and New Bedford for many years and was a host at Antonio's Restaurant in his retirement.
Dave served proudly in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; his daughter Stefanie Rebello of Fairhaven; his son Mark Rebello of Bourne; his brother, Ronald Rebello; and his grandchildren Ryley Costa of New Bedford and Brady Costa and his wife Rebecca of Acushnet, who are expecting Dave's first great-grandchild.
His Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, December 12th at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Shepherd's Food Pantry 1215 Main St, Acushnet, MA 02743 or the American Cancer Society.

Forever Remembered
I have too many childhood memories with Mr. Rebello, I can´t bring myself to call him Dave.
Two of my favorites, he nicknamed bones, a scrawny 12-year girl. That nickname stayed with me throughout high school.
I remember him coming home after a long day at UPS, first words to me "your still here?" I spent more time at his home with Stef and Mark than I did my own.
Rest in peace Mr. Rebello
Cheryl
